RONALD R. ORR SR.
Masonic Biographical Information
1 January 2005

Ron, a 65 year old, 40 year Mason is a native of Nevada, who grew up in Pioche, Nevada. He attended Pioche G.S., Lincoln County High School in Panaca, and University of Nevada, Reno. Following College he was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he spent 20 years in the service of this country. Retiring from the service in 1981, He owned and operated a stock brokerage in Fort Worth, Texas for 10 years. He served as the Director of Training for a Las Vegas Computer firm for seven years. He now operates his own business consultancy practice specializing in Computer Assisted Management & Design, Internet Operations and Computer Security.

It is of little wonder that Brother Orr is in our ranks. His Grandfather, 2 Great-Uncles, Father, and 2 Uncles have all gone before him in our fraternity and served in the East of this noble Saint John Lodge. Robert R. Orr, his Father, was a 50+year member and the most senior member of this Lodge at his death in 1999. His Grandmother, Mother, and 3 Aunts are Past Matrons of Mizpah Chapter #19, O.E.S. His Mother, Evalyn M. McMillan-Orr was Worthy Grand Matron of the State of Nevada in 1967. One Uncle Duane Laubach, served two terms as the Grand Master of Masons in Nevada.

During his time as a sojourner he has had the opportunity to visit and work in a number Lodges in 14 countries and jurisdictions. He has often stated how wonderful the differences as well as similarities have been in the warm, friendly, and fraternal world of Freemasonry whithersoever dispersed around the globe.

Entered as an Apprentice in August of 1965 here at his home Lodge, he was side tracked for time in Vietnam before being Passed to Fellocraft in September of 1968, and Raised to Master Mason, in October 1968, at the courtesy of Cresey Proctor Lodge #679 of Fayetteville, North Carolina.

In April of 1975 the York Rite attracted Ron while stationed in Germany. He received the instructive degrees from and joined the Bavaria Chapter #28 and ALEA Triangle Council #17 in Augsburg, Germany. As a Knight Templar, He served as Junior Decon and on their degree team as the Master of the Second Vale before being transferred out again.

October 1985 found Ron in serving as an officer in Fort Worth Lodge #148. and the Scottish Rite Valley of Fort Worth where he was advanced to the Lodge of Perfection, exhaulted to the Chapter of Rose Croix, perfected to the Council of Kadosh, and made a Master of the Royal Secret.
The Moshla Temple of the Ancient Accepted Order of Nobil Mystic Shrine located in Fort Worth, Texas took in Ron as a lowly camel herder in May of 1986.

Now, having settled back here in Nevada, Ron is a member in good standing in his home Lodge of Saint John #18 of Pioche, Research Lodge #2, Keystone Chapter #6, Zabud Council #10, Malta Commandry #3, The Scottish Rite bodies, and Zelzah Shrine, all of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Recognition and honor has been bestowed in many ways over the years but Ron is most proud of being asked (in 2000) to join the Royal Order of Scotland, Bannockburn Chapter and be Knighted in an organization that is so very close to his families leanage and history. Again in 2000, Knighted by the Ancient Order of Knight Masons where serves as the Scribe of our own Killkenney Council #33, and their Director of the Degree of Knight of the East. In 2004 he was Elevated to Knight Commander of the Court of Honor (K.C.C.H.) by the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of the Valley of Las Vegas. He was also Commissioned the Grand Representative of the Grand Lodge of Scotland and Conferred Honorary Grand Junior Warden of that body.
